A private villa with sea views in Gothenburg
A 380 m² villa on a steep cliff right by the sea, with 180 degree sea views and with the Vinga lighthouse flashing in the west. The house offers large social areas, with room for both friends and family, while there are contemplative rooms that invite you to be quiet.
A small private road winds up the cliff to the entrance staircase leading up to the villa itself. The kitchen hangs out over the cliff directly to the sea, the living room as a rocky ledge two steps up. Both open out onto the terrace with the pool in view, forming a unity with the horizon and the sparkling western sea. The bedrooms are reached by continuing the climb up the slope of the cliff, and at the highest point the sauna is a pilot's lookout.
We chose a turnkey contract and it was Willa Nordic who suggested Kanozi Arkitekter and Johan Casselbrant as the architect. Johan was very responsive and understood what we wanted already after the first meeting. Then we made some minor adjustments according to our needs and proposals, we experienced him as flexible and professional in every way.
It's impressive how well thought out the house is, it's amazing how Johan was able to think about the whole thing and get details in views that are almost like paintings from the inside out.
The house offers large social areas - space for both friends and family, while at the same time there are contemplative rooms that invite silence, such as the sauna with illuminated constellations. Likewise, the library corner with the family armchair that takes its place in the heart of the entrance floor.
Earlier on the plot was a summer cottage that belonged to the family. The current owners also got married on the site, before building their dream house.
